The existing shower enclosure was re-worked, with new falls leading to a sleek 100mm channel drain.

Every corner mitred perfectly, then filled and polished cleanly.

Shower base and falls

The existing centre-waste shower base was removed, extended and reformed. New falls were created using a tiled hob step and a colour-matched tile-insert channel drain, so the drain sits quietly within the floor.

Waterproofing

Applied by a registered ARDEX and MAPEI waterproofing applicator. Surfaces were primed with ARDEX Multiprime, all corners, junctions and penetrations taped with ARDEX STB tape, then two coats of ARDEX Rapid 155 WPM.

Tiling and finishing

1200 × 600mm porcelain on the walls and floor, with a 50 × 80mm marble fish-scale mosaic for the feature wall. Fixed with ARDEX X17, grouted with ARDEX FSDD waterproof grout and finished with colour-matched ARDEX silicone.

Set-out and detailing

Mitred corners, a mitred shower niche and hob, and a set-out planned to make the most of the large-format tiles. With 30+ years' experience, including a decade tiling in the UK, we plan the set-out before the first tile goes down.
